How to enable or disable efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge has an efficiency mode that can improve memory management in browsers. It ensures effective allocation of memory in your system, which will help extend the battery life of the system. In this tutorial, I will show you how to enable or disable efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge.

Enabling or disabling efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge

After enabling this mode, you may notice a slight decrease in browser speed. This is because your browser is trying to fully utilize your existing battery. However, if you have a good CPU, you may not notice a very slight decrease. To enable this feature, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open the Edge browser.

Step 2: Click the horizontal point in the upper right corner of the window. This will open the “Settings” menu. (You can also access this menu using the shortcut keys Alt+F.).

Step 3: Select the settings option from the menu.

Step 4: Click on the System and Performance Options in the left tab.

Step 5: In the “Optimize Performance” section, you will see a drop-down menu next to “Turn on Efficiency Mode”. Select the desired option from the drop-down menu. You can choose to turn on efficiency mode when the battery is low, always on, not plugged in, or never on.
